Shadow boxes
Taking the objects from the junk drawer assignment we took the shading technique a step further and drew shaded 3D boxes to put the junk drawer objects in.

Sticks and cell phones
To make the explanation of this project short, the assignment for this project was to get a stick and a cell phone and draw 16 different views of each object. We then took those 16 and drew 32 of that object and then 64 of that object, and then we were to combine the two objects in several drawings.

Cube and Straw Stand
This assignment has two main parts to it. The first part was to construct a 4"x4"x4" cube with one open end, using white Bristol board, articulating the edges to aid assembly and design intent. The second part was to design an integral structure made from plastic drinking straws that positions the cube four inches above an eight inch square base.
The first structure that I made was triangular shaped and had the straws in a grid formation so that it would relate to the square tabs on my cube. After speaking with Tommy, I then revised my structure to better relate to the cube as a whole.

Intersection project
The goal of this project was to design a container for a special object using paper, fabric, and thread of your choice. My special object was a ring that my dad gave me. Using pink and silver ribbon, black construction paper, and black thread my final project enabled the ring to be suspended in a black cube.

8.25.09
Looking through multiple blogs today one of my favorite ones was Tommy Kane's blog. The way he draws and uses color really caught my eye and seemed to somewhat pull me into his work. I really liked how he draws with a cartoon-like quality. The piece titled Gennine Z is one of my favorites because of the colors used in the picture. I would strongly recommend anyone to go visit this blog. To view this blog click the blue link above.
